White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia held a brief press briefing on her first day in the role, taking questions from only three journalists.
During the briefing, Zacharia announced that Kimberly Guilfoyle had been asked to resign from her position as the U.S. ambassador to Greece. However, she was unable to provide an answer regarding whether the U.S. would continue sharing intelligence with Ukraine. Much of Zacharia's time was spent discussing her plans to balance her family life with her new responsibilities.
The BBC's North America editor, Sarah Smith, described the event as the briefest White House briefing she has ever witnessed.
