Katie Price Tells Court She Was "Shocked" by Ex-Husband's Rape Allegations
TV personality Katie Price testified that she was "really shocked" and believed the alleged victim was "afraid" after exchanging text messages regarding allegations against her ex-husband, Kieran Hayler.
Katie Price told a court on Monday that she was "really shocked" to learn of the allegations of rape against her ex-husband, Kieran Hayler. Hayler is currently on trial, facing three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against a teenage girl in West Sussex in 2016. He denies all charges.
Giving evidence behind a screen, Price stated that she had exchanged text messages with the alleged victim, who is now an adult. According to Price, these messages indicated that Hayler "had tried to kiss her" and "had done stuff to her." She described the complainant as appearing "afraid" during their communications.
When Price confronted Hayler about the allegations, she testified that his consistent response was denial, stating, "no I hadn't."
She further elaborated on the content of the messages, telling the jury that the complainant reported that Hayler "definitely a kiss and that he said he loved her."
Price also informed the court that she had obtained Hayler's fingerprints while he was reportedly intoxicated in order to access his phone. "I wanted to get information out of [the complainant] because it's serious," she added.
