Katie Price is consulting a medical specialist after her unexplained weight loss has raised concerns among her family and fans. The 48-year-old former glamour model, who has previously denied using weight loss medication, is undergoing further medical evaluations to determine the cause of her significant weight reduction.
In a recent health update shared on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, she revealed that doctors have requested two additional blood tests as she is set to see a gastroenterologist. "I've got to go back and have two more blood tests because I've got to see a gastroenterologist or something to get to the bottom of why I'm losing weight," Price stated. "The gastroenterologist, whatever they're called, have asked me to do two more blood tests. I don't know what they're tested for and then we'll take it from there."
The weight loss has been a subject of concern for her family. Earlier this month, her son Junior prepared a large pasta dish for her in an Instagram video, expressing worry that she was not eating enough on her own. "She won't cook for herself so I just had to come round and cook her some dinner," he said.
Price has previously acknowledged her thin frame. In January, she sought medical advice after being alarmed by photos that depicted her as appearing "gaunt." During an appearance on Good Morning Britain in March, host Susanna Reid commented on her slim physique, asking if her weight loss was due to medication or if she was at a healthy weight.
Responding to the concerns, Price informed viewers that she recognized her weight loss and acknowledged looking "too skinny" and "gaunt." She stated that she had consulted doctors and undergone various tests, including blood work and a stool sample, to investigate the reasons for her weight loss. While initial blood tests indicated she was not using weight loss medication like Ozempic, they did reveal an iron deficiency. "I am lacking in iron, they are now checking the other bit. And I am going through premenopause at the moment as well," she explained, adding that she was otherwise healthy.
In February, Price mentioned that she had gained seven pounds, attributing her husband, Carl Woods, as a "feeder" and sharing a photo of her feet on scales to show she had reached "7 stone 12 pounds" and was "healthy."
