Lee Andrews, the husband of British personality Katie Price, has been identified as the primary defendant in a Dubai court case involving a significant property dispute. This development comes shortly after Andrews' release from Al Awir Central Prison, where he was held due to fraud allegations. He has maintained that he was detained at gunpoint on suspicion of espionage.
The Dubai court case, brought forth by claimant Alexander Keya, names Andrews as the first of three defendants. Court documents indicate that an accounting expert has been appointed to conduct a financial examination of the situation. A remote judicial meeting was scheduled for later in July, following a court order on July 15, 2025, for this review. The specific allegations and the ongoing proceedings mean a final judgment has not yet been reached.
Andrews, who describes himself as a millionaire businessman, recently stated he lost 20 pounds during his month-long imprisonment. He has also hinted at a potential move to the UK, despite an existing travel ban preventing him from leaving the United Arab Emirates. He recently shared a video of himself back in the gym, noting he was regaining the weight lost in prison.
Amidst claims that he could face re-imprisonment if outstanding debts are not settled within 14 days, Andrews has reportedly signed up for the video message platform Cameo. In one such message, he suggested he was preparing to leave Dubai for a new life in the UK with Price. However, he has repeatedly stated intentions to travel to the UK without successfully boarding a flight due to the travel ban.
Documents related to the debts that led to his arrest reportedly include £54,000 for a rental car and £15,000 owed to a United Arab Emirates legal firm. While he was not actively sought by police at this stage, he was required to settle these debts within two weeks. A representative for Andrews informed The Sun that he appeared in court, explained his inability to pay due to his wife being abroad and his bank accounts being inaccessible, and requested a 14-day period to clear the outstanding amounts.
Sources indicated that Andrews managed to avoid jail by assuring the court he could raise the capital himself, stating that Price had been supportive but he had not asked her to pay his debts. Price had previously expressed that Andrews had "questions to answer" about his finances but is reportedly back with him.
Andrews has consistently refuted claims of arrest over fraud, maintaining his detention was due to espionage suspicions and a civil case. He has specifically denied allegations of taking out a £200,000 mortgage in his ex-fiancée Dina Taji's name without her knowledge, an action that reportedly led to the travel ban. Taji has reportedly met with Price to warn her about her husband.
Andrews also criticized television presenter Susanna Reid for calling him a conman on the morning show Good Morning Britain, demanding she lose her job for prejudging him without solid evidence. He stated he would address his situation on a future joint appearance with Price on the show.
