Katie Price has shared her thoughts on reuniting with former flame Gareth Gates, 24 years after an intimate encounter when Gates was 17 and Price was 21 and six months pregnant with her son Harvey. The pop star, who has previously denied their relationship, appears in Price's new Sky documentary, "Katie Price: Nothing to Hide."

Speaking on Hits Radio's Breakfast Show, Price stated that Gates's reaction in the documentary was the most surprising. She admitted she still fancies him and explained that Gates had previously believed she had leaked their story to the press, leading him to "ghost" her. "Now I know why," Price said. "People in his head and he thought I’d set something up when I actually hadn’t. Then twenty five years later and he finds out it was nothing to do with me and you see his reaction."

Price clarified that their experience was more significant than a one-night stand. "I think people think it was just like a one night stand with me and him when it wasn't," she said.

During the documentary, Gates expressed relief upon learning that Price was not responsible for the story's publication. "It's like he's been wrong for all this time, you'd think people might be like, 'oh no damn it,' but he's relieved," Price observed. She added, "Put it this way, if I was his girlfriend watching what he said I wouldn’t be happy. Am I right or wrong? And he still looks fit I must say..."

At the documentary's launch, Price mentioned her surprise that Gates would finally discuss their past, given that he had claimed she "ghosted" him. "Imagine meeting someone 25 years ago and then they sort of ghost you. You don't know why and then you go forward 25 years and then you get the answers," she told attendees.

Gates, in a previous appearance on the "Great Company" podcast, alluded to the situation. "No comment. I'll just say I was extremely inexperienced with a girl who was extremely experienced. I could see why she thought that," he said when asked if Price took his virginity. He added that he believes such relationships are private and was shocked that intimate details were being sold to the press. "I would never have ever done that to her or to anybody else, and so it was a real learning curve for me," Gates stated. He described becoming wary of trusting people in the industry after the widely publicized event, which he felt overshadowed his music. "I was a boy at the time, I wasn't even an adult," he added.

Price had previously confirmed the encounter in 2024, stating, "I took his virginity when I was six months pregnant."
