Katie Price Messaged Ex-Husband's Rape Accuser, Court Hears

Katie Price sent messages to a teenage girl who later accused her then-husband, Kieran Hayler, of rape, telling her: "I will make you a little star," a court was told.

Hayler is currently on trial at Lewes Crown Court facing three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The accusations stem from events in 2016 involving a girl who was 13 at the time. Hayler denies all charges.

Jurors were shown text messages exchanged between Price and the complainant, who was 14 at the time of the messages. In them, Price questioned the girl about her interactions with Hayler, mentioning she had heard they had kissed and that he had "tried it on" with her.

"I'm only asking as this is a serious allegation," Price wrote, to which the teenager responded that it was "just a flirt thing" and that "nothing happened". Price then asked, "Did he kiss you? I won't bring up anymore just want truth. I will make you a little star." She also inquired if Hayler had ever expressed romantic interest in the girl, who replied: "Yes, but I took it as a joke."

During cross-examination, the complainant, now an adult, stated she was "trying to brush it off" when she told Price nothing had happened. When asked about Price's "I will make you a little star" comment, she told the court she "just ignored it."

Arlette Piercy, defending Hayler, suggested the alleged offenses did not occur. The complainant affirmed, "I would never make it up."

The court heard that the complainant deleted text messages, including those where she and Hayler exchanged "I love you" sentiments, after he allegedly instructed her to get rid of them. Following the third alleged rape, Hayler texted the girl "I love you goodnight," and she responded, "I love you too." Piercy stated that Hayler's defense does not accept such texts were sent, but the complainant confirmed they were "deleted, long gone, years ago" at Hayler's request.

Hayler and Price were married when the alleged incidents took place; they divorced in 2021 after separating in 2018. Hayler's defense has suggested that Price initiated a campaign against him following their marriage breakdown, and the allegations are part of that.

The complainant is not related to either Hayler or Price's extended families. The trial is ongoing.
