Katie Price Details Split from Lee Andrews, Citing Financial Deception
The television personality stated her husband "scammed her heart" after discovering his claimed millions were only a few dollars, while he maintains "divorce is for the best" from prison.
Katie Price has publicly addressed her split from husband Lee Andrews, stating that he "scammed her heart" by fabricating his financial standing. The former glamour model, 48, ended her eight-month marriage after learning that Andrews possessed only £2.22 in his account, contrary to his claims of being a millionaire.
Appearing on "Good Morning Britain," Price explained her feelings of embarrassment, saying, "I feel like he scammed my heart and stole my trust." She clarified that the deception was not financial but rather the creation of a false persona. Andrews, who is currently in prison in Dubai, sent a voice note admitting that divorce is "for the best." In the message, he denied being a criminal, stating he has funds and that Price had incorrectly accessed his cryptocurrency wallet. He expressed his continued love for Price.
Price recounted that Andrews had claimed to have $50 million in a cryptocurrency account, a figure that later turned out to be $3 (£2.22). She expressed exhaustion with his recurring stories and delayed promises of release from prison. She acknowledged that friends and media reports had warned her about Andrews, but she had initially defended him based on his assurances.
"Everyone has been right, but I had to find out myself," Price stated, adding that while in Dubai, Andrews presented a believable image, even taking her to jewelry shops. Despite the circumstances, Price found a positive in the situation, enjoying her independence and realizing her ability to be content on her own.
Her final message to Andrews, 43, via WhatsApp reportedly read: "I have been played and you are not who you say you are. Why have you lied to me?"
According to reports, Andrews claimed to have £37 million in a crypto bank account. He is currently in a Dubai jail and is reportedly struggling to raise funds for his release. Sources close to the situation indicated that Price had "come to her senses." The alleged final straw was when she had a financial expert verify the cryptocurrency wallet, discovering it held only $3.
Price's marriage to Andrews has been marked by controversy, including his alleged imprisonment, accusations of kidnapping, and various deceptions. Reports of his release from a Dubai jail in July were later contradicted, with inmates allegedly growing tired of his continued falsehoods about his pending departure.
Previously, Price had vowed to hold Andrews accountable for "hurting other people," suggesting an interview on her podcast to expose his actions. Representatives for Price declined to comment when reached by The Daily Mail.
