Katie Miller's Food Post Draws Criticism Amid Economic Concerns

MAGA podcaster Katie Miller, wife of former Trump White House official Stephen Miller, ignited a firestorm on social media platform X on Thursday after sharing a photograph of what appeared to be her meal. The image, captioned "Grass-fed steak, asparagus and white sweet potatoes," depicted a large serving of sliced meat and vegetables.

The post emerged as former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party face significant headwinds in polling regarding their handling of the economy and inflation, particularly weeks before the midterm elections.

Critics were quick to point out the perceived disconnect between Miller's post and the economic realities facing many Americans. U.S. Representative Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) responded by referencing rising gas and grocery prices, as well as the consumer price index, writing, "What are trump enablers focused on? See below. Another let them eat cake moment. November is coming."

Journalist David Leavitt echoed this sentiment, stating, "Most Americans are living paycheck to paycheck and you’re flaunting your wealth."

World-renowned chef José Andrés also commented, offering a pointed observation about the meal itself: "Poor asparagus with no tips….."
