Katie Alexander Takes Solace in Morocco Amid Relationship Turmoil and Past Threats
Eamonn Holmes's girlfriend escapes to North Africa as reports detail 'years of hell' and a recent forced move from their shared London flat.
Katie Alexander, girlfriend of television presenter Eamonn Holmes, has embarked on a trip to Morocco as she reportedly navigates personal difficulties, including alleged death threats and a recent move from their shared residence. The getaway comes amidst reports detailing a challenging period for Alexander, who claims to have endured "years of hell" and mental health struggles due to her relationship with Holmes.
According to The Sun, Alexander confided in a friend about the intense scrutiny and threats she faced after beginning her relationship with Holmes. "I was thrust into the limelight and suddenly blamed for everything that went wrong with Eamonn," she reportedly said. "I had death threats sent to my work email, and letters to my home address threatening to decapitate me. It has been two-and-a-half years of pure hell."
Alexander, 45, shared cryptic posts on social media alluding to relationship troubles shortly after it was reported she had to vacate the London flat she shared with Holmes, 66. She wrote, "There is a quiet kind of strength in becoming comfortable with who you are. No longer needing to prove, explain or seek validation – just choosing peace, protecting your energy and finding beauty in the life you're creating."
Friends of Alexander have suggested she feels "cast aside" by Holmes's family, including his ex-wives Ruth Langsford and Gabrielle Holmes, who have reportedly united to support him as he recovers from a recent stroke. "The Holmes clan have pulled together to form a close unit as they navigate what Eamonn's future is," a source told the Daily Mail. "But Katie has been left out in the cold, on her own, and that is very upsetting for her."
Alexander, a therapist, began dating Holmes in 2024, following the breakdown of his marriage to Langsford. She had established a base at Holmes's rented penthouse apartment in Kingston upon Thames, south-west London. However, reports indicate that Ruth Langsford and Holmes's children from his first marriage—Declan, Rebecca, and Niall—were involved in the decision for Alexander to leave the apartment. The flat has since been returned to landlords as Holmes remains in hospital.
Holmes suffered a stroke in April and was hospitalized. He was last seen in public in June with Alexander by his side. There is uncertainty regarding where Holmes will reside upon his discharge from the hospital. Reports suggest his family is managing his financial affairs during his ongoing recovery.
Despite recent challenges, Holmes had previously spoken positively about Alexander. In March, a month before his stroke, he described her as "the perfect tonic" for his health issues. He underwent major spinal surgery in 2022 and has experienced other health problems, including arthritis in his spine. Holmes had expressed that while physically struggling, he remained mentally sharp and enjoyed activities with Alexander, such as walks and dining out.
In related news, it is speculated that Holmes may not return to his role at GB News, where he had expressed an intention to resume anchoring. His recovery is reportedly taking longer than anticipated, leading some close to him to believe his broadcasting career may be over.
