Kathy Griffin claimed on Tuesday that she has been banned from "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," citing her history of controversy and perceived inappropriateness.

"I have not done the Jimmy Fallon show since it was on at 12:30 Eastern and Pacific, so I guess I’m banned from the Fallon show, or inappropriate, or too controversial," Griffin stated in a video posted to Instagram. She added that shows typically do not announce bans, but rather make it difficult to secure a spot.

Griffin's claim follows her criticism of Fallon for recently hosting professional MMA fighter Conor McGregor. She argued that this decision sent a negative message to women and marginalized communities, suggesting a double standard in how controversial figures are treated.

"I think it’s time we kind of make up our minds about who we’re going to cancel and who we’re not," Griffin said, referring to herself as "the most canceled celebrity in history." She also drew a parallel to Fallon's decision to host Donald Trump on his show, an action that also did not sit well with her.

In 2017, Griffin faced widespread backlash after sharing an image of herself holding a mask made to resemble the severed head of then-President Donald Trump. The incident prompted an investigation by the Secret Service regarding whether the image constituted a threat.

Despite Griffin's assertion, a source familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital that there is no official ban on the comedian from "The Tonight Show."

Griffin also recently addressed an older photograph of herself with Trump, clarifying that it was not an AI-generated image and that she had a cordial relationship with him years ago. In a YouTube video, she explained that the photo, which she described as being from about 20 years prior, showed Trump as someone who would attend events and laugh at her jokes, but stressed she was not glorifying him.
