Kathy Griffin, 65, has publicly revealed a new relationship with a man 43 years her junior. The comedian shared a photo on social media featuring a young, blonde man holding open a car door for her, with the caption, "He's 22. Have at it, internet."
Griffin, who was previously married three times, divorced her second husband, marketing executive Randy Bick, last year. Following her divorce, she admitted to having "accidentally" fallen in love with a 23-year-old man. In an essay, she explained that her younger partners often lacked the "sexism, misogyny, and biases" sometimes found in men her own age, and that she felt comfortable and content with them.
Fans and celebrity friends reacted to the announcement, with Courtney Stodden commenting, "You'll always be hot." Griffin reportedly expressed amusement at the comments, writing, "I AM DYING AT THESE COMMENTS." Others showed support, with one fan writing, "if he is opening the car door for you, keep him. More class at 22 than most men!"
This is not the first time Griffin has been linked with a significantly younger partner. In mid-May, approximately 16 months after her divorce was finalized, she posted a photo with an unknown man closer to her age, announcing, "We're insta official. Deal with it."
Griffin has been open about her dating history, which includes a marriage to computer administrator Matt Moline from 2001 to 2006 and a relationship with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak from 2007 to 2008. She also had a four-year relationship with her tour manager that ended in 2012. Her marriage to Randy Bick lasted less than four years.
She has previously addressed her public perception as a "cougar," stating she doesn't mind the label. Griffin has noted that she has largely dated younger men since her 30s and embraces the freedom to choose partners outside of societal age expectations.
