Katherine Ryan Considers 'Deadliest Cosmetic Surgery' After Facelift

Comedian Katherine Ryan, 43, is considering a fat transfer, a procedure she described as potentially 'the deadliest cosmetic surgery you can get,' following her £25,000 facelift. Ryan has been open about her past cosmetic procedures, which include a full facelift last year, Botox, and two breast augmentations.

Speaking on The Romesh Ranganathan Show, Ryan discussed her interest in fat transfer, a three-step process involving removing fat from one part of the body and injecting it into another. She noted that while the procedure can achieve desired results, it carries significant risks, particularly when performed as a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), which has the highest mortality rate among cosmetic surgeries due to the presence of large veins in the gluteal muscle.

"I'm not sure what I'm doing [with my arse yet] but it will be something," Ryan stated, explaining the process of harvesting fat via liposuction and redeploying it. "I think people went a little wild with that and they all looked like they had, I don't know unnatural proportions. So I might do that, but only mildly because it is the deadliest surgery you can get."

She added, "So, I might not do it because I might die, but worth it if I don't."

Ryan also revealed plans to have her breast implants removed, citing extensive breastfeeding as a factor that has changed her preference for larger breasts. "I think part of what people don't like about me is the audacity that I have to be like I'm one of the prettiest girls in the world because it's like a cheat. Like I don't deserve to feel that way. Like they're like, 'Well, hang on. No, you're not.' And it's like, Yeah I have a lot of confidence. I definitely think I'm prettier than I am. And this high maintenance stuff is just so I can be low maintenance in real life," she explained.

This consideration follows Ryan's recent facelift, which she initially considered with Kris Jenner's surgeon. However, after Jenner's procedure, the surgeon's price increased significantly from $174,000 to over $300,000. Ryan ultimately opted for a UK-based surgeon, paying between £22,000 and £23,000 for her facelift. She described the UK surgeon as ethical and affordable, although she noted that other surgeons in London are charging substantially more for procedures that have resulted in complications.

Ryan shared that her husband, Bobby Kootstra, was initially unsupportive of her decision to undergo the facelift, refusing to speak to her the night before she traveled for the procedure. Praising the results of her facelift, she stated, "I just think my facelift is so beautiful. It's gorgeous. It's achieved exactly what I wanted."
