Comedian Katherine Ryan and actor Ross Kemp were key figures at the Mail Metro Media Upfront & Centre event held at London's Outernet on Wednesday night.
Ryan, 43, entertained the audience, highlighting the momentum at Mail Metro Media. Kemp, 62, a star of "The Traitors," spoke with Head of Podcasts Jamie East on stage about engaging audiences and capitalizing on cultural moments. Kemp noted he had to sign a significant non-disclosure agreement regarding "The Traitors," which was set to air on the BBC on Thursday. He is also scheduled to appear on East's podcast, "Celebrity Trenches," on October 16.
During the event, Ryan humorously thanked the Daily Mail for publishing photos of her eating oysters at Wimbledon, crediting the images with boosting her book's sales.
Mail Metro Media used the event to unveil a new brand and strategy aimed at increasing advertiser opportunities across content, advertising, commerce, and social platforms. The company reported significant growth over the past year, with its social publisher, dmg new media, reaching over three billion views monthly.
Dominic Williams, Chief Revenue Officer at Mail Metro Media, stated the company is fulfilling its ambition to become a modern broadcast publisher by building momentum across various channels and creating new connection points for audiences and advertisers. He encouraged partners to challenge the company with their objectives.
The event also marked the launch of MetroWorks, an in-house agency providing insight, strategy, creative services, consumer activation, and commercial editorial expertise. A new insights tool within MetroWorks will offer advertising partners access to data from 1,000 commuters, aiming to enhance brands' understanding and connection with Metro's audience.
