Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte Take Subway Ride in London
The Princess of Wales and her daughter were seen traveling on the Elizabeth line, opting for a public transport experience.
Kate Middleton and her 11-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, were recently seen traveling on the Elizabeth line in central London. The mother-daughter duo were filmed opting for a public subway ride over their usual chauffeured transport.
A source told Hello! magazine that Princess Charlotte appeared "amazed" by her surroundings during the journey. The royals reportedly had security personnel with them, who took measures to keep their presence discreet and make the experience as "normal" as possible.
The eyewitness also noted that Middleton and Charlotte engaged in a brief conversation with other passengers. "Catherine had her phone with her and was looking at her phone for a couple of minutes," the observer recalled. "They seemed very relaxed and were chatting together, smiling. They seemed very happy."
Middleton and her daughter disembarked at the Tottenham Court Road station, with Middleton holding Charlotte's hand as they left. Both appeared to be dressed formally for the outing, with Middleton wearing a maroon ensemble and her daughter in navy tights and ballet flats.
This is not the first time Middleton has used public transport. In 2023, she and her husband, Prince William, took the same subway line to a pub in Soho to thank essential workers during Coronation weekend. Middleton has previously expressed a fondness for the underground, having admitted in 2013 that she missed using it before becoming a royal.
