Kate Gosselin was recently seen with her son Aaden outside their North Carolina home, a rare public appearance as her estranged son, Collin, gears up to release a memoir.

Collin Gosselin's book, titled "In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood," is scheduled for release on October 13. In the memoir, the 22-year-old plans to share what he describes as a "never-before-told story of how he escaped and found his way back from the dark."

The book cover features a photograph of Kate Gosselin with her hand over Collin's mouth, alongside his sextuplet siblings. The memoir is expected to include allegations of child abuse and exploitation, with Collin detailing alleged experiences such as being held down, confined to a basement, and being administered antipsychotic medication at age 11.

Kate Gosselin, who was married to ex-husband Jon Gosselin from 1999 to 2009, also shares 25-year-old twins Cara and Madelyn with him. Jon Gosselin was granted sole custody of Collin in 2018, and Hannah also resides with her father.

Collin has previously made allegations against his mother, including claims of childhood abuse and exploitation, such as being zip-tied and restrained in a basement before his institutionalization in 2016. He has also alleged that Kate Gosselin made him pray to stop hitting him when he was a toddler. Kate Gosselin has denied these allegations, stating in a social media comment that Collin is "mentally ill."
