Kate Ferdinand recently addressed public perceptions of her marriage to former footballer Rio Ferdinand, including accusations that she is a "gold digger." The couple has been enjoying a holiday in Ibiza, where Ferdinand shared moments from their trip on social media.

Ferdinand, 35, was seen flaunting her figure in a pink bikini at O Beach, Ibiza. The couple joined friends at a day club where Afrobeat artist Burna Boy was performing. Rio Ferdinand, 47, also shared moments from the trip, including a photo with the Nigerian singer.

During a recent live chat about blended families, Ferdinand admitted that some people believe she is with Rio for his wealth. "People think I'm a gold digger, I'm with him for money. I'm basically his nanny that he doesn't pay," she stated. She countered these claims by saying that if financial gain were her sole motivation, she could have pursued a simpler path without the complexities of a blended family.

The couple's relationship began in 2016, a year after Rio Ferdinand's first wife, Rebecca, died from breast cancer. Kate Ferdinand, then 25, gave up her reality TV career to help raise Rio's three sons, Lorenz, Tate, and Cree, and his daughter Tia. The couple married in 2019. They are also parents to a younger daughter, Shae.

Rio Ferdinand also spoke about the challenges of their family dynamic. He acknowledged that bringing Kate into his life after his wife's death and navigating the complexities of raising children together was not a smooth transition. He noted that Kate has faced criticisms and difficulties but expressed that the positive aspects of their life together balance the challenges. Ferdinand emphasized the importance of allowing Kate to parent and establishing trust and boundaries within their blended family structure.

Ferdinand's comments come as the couple continues to enjoy their holiday, sharing glimpses of their time together in Ibiza.
