White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will leave her position at the end of August, President Donald Trump announced on social media. Leavitt, 28, is departing the role to spend more time with her two young children and family.

Trump called Leavitt "one of my most trusted aides" and stated that she will remain a significant figure within his administration and the Republican Party. "Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections," Trump posted. He also praised her tenure, saying she has been "one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office."

Leavitt, who gave birth to her second child in May, had recently returned from maternity leave. She is the youngest person to have held the position of White House Press Secretary. In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, Leavitt expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and to speak on behalf of the President at the White House podium. She described her time as press secretary over the past year and a half as both an "honor and adventure."
