Karoline Leavitt's husband 'furious' over media 'attacks' during her White House tenure

Karoline Leavitt, the former White House press secretary under Donald Trump, revealed that her husband, Nicholas Riccio, would become furious over media "attacks" she faced during her time in the role. Leavitt, 29, discussed her tenure and her husband's reaction in an interview on Fox News host Sean Hannity's podcast.

Riccio, 61, accompanied Leavitt to the podcast recording but remained off-camera. When Hannity asked Riccio if he ever grew angry at those in the media who criticized his wife, Leavitt answered on his behalf. "He does, he says, 'How do you be nice to these people? How do you even deal with them?'" Leavitt recalled.

Leavitt announced her departure from her role as press secretary on August 27, stating her decision was motivated by a desire to spend more time with her young family. She and Riccio have two children: Viviana, four months, and Niko, two years old.

She also acknowledged her husband's sacrifices, noting he had stepped back from his own career and moved to Washington D.C. to support her. "He has just been an angel and a blessing to me and my kids, really has given up a lot to move to DC, a town he's unfamiliar with," Leavitt said.

Leavitt described her time working for President Trump as the "honor and blessing of a lifetime" and praised his support for her and her family. She and her family, including Riccio and their two children, posed for a photo in front of the White House press podium on her last day.

Leavitt's relationship with Riccio, who is 32 years her senior, has been described by her as an "atypical love story." They met through a mutual friend during her Congressional campaign and later fell in love. She previously shared with Megyn Kelly that while she had initial doubts about their age difference, Riccio is her "greatest supporter, best friend and rock."
