Karoline Leavitt Calls Trump 'Kind and Uplifting,' Details White House Exit

Karoline Leavitt, the former White House press secretary, described President Donald Trump as "kind and uplifting" and "the best boss" during a recent Instagram Q&A session. Leavitt, who served in the role from January 2025 to August 2026, shared personal insights into her relationship with Trump and her career transition.

During the Q&A, Leavitt responded to questions about Trump's personality, stating, "People don’t see this side of him because the media doesn’t show it but he has been nothing but kind and uplifting to me, even since departing. He’s also hilarious. Love him!"

Leavitt also addressed her decision to leave the White House to dedicate more time to her children. She explained that her previous role required working over 60 hours a week, constant travel, and being on call 24/7. "Now, I am home with my kids every day and doing some TV hits," she said. "These things are not the same, ma’am."

Confirming previous announcements, Leavitt stated she will officially join Fox News Channel as a TV contributor on November 1st, continuing to make appearances across various network programs. FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott had announced Leavitt's new role earlier in the month.

Leavitt's career includes previous roles in Trump's first administration as a presidential writer and assistant press secretary. She also ran for Congress as a Republican in New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District in 2022 and served as communications director for former House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik.

For those aspiring to work in public relations or politics, Leavitt advised gaining practical, real-world experience during college rather than solely relying on classroom learning. She highlighted her own internships at NBC Sports Boston and a local news station before securing a White House internship, encouraging aspiring professionals to "say yes to every opportunity" and "spend your summers working."

Leavitt, who was the youngest White House press secretary, also commented on her free time, noting its scarcity as a mother of two young children. "I don't have free time. As a mom of two littles, I'm lucky if I can take a shower in peace. But it's the season of life I'm in and I wouldn't have it any other way!!!!"
