Supermodel Karlie Kloss has spoken about the importance of fostering dialogue across political divides, particularly within the context of her marriage to Joshua Kushner, brother of Jared Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump.
Kloss, who identifies as a Democrat, stated in an interview with Emily Chang of Bloomberg Originals' "The Circuit" that she understands her own values and the issues she cares about, asserting, "I know who I am." She also acknowledged the significance of her husband's family, noting, "it's my husband's family."
When asked about conversations at family gatherings, Kloss referenced her upbringing in St. Louis, describing it as "a blue dot in a red state." She believes this environment exposed her to diverse political viewpoints from an early age, which she feels prepared her for life. "I'm a Democrat," Kloss stated. "I think it's possible to have relationships with people who you politically don't align with, and I think this country has always been a place for, for dialogue. We have to be able to talk to each other."
Kloss has previously shared similar sentiments. In a 2019 interview with TIME Magazine, she described navigating her association with the influential family as challenging but emphasized her commitment to focusing on shared values with her husband, which she described as liberal values she was raised with. She also noted that she has never met or spoken with former President Donald Trump himself about politics.
