Karl Stefanovic Settles Legal Dispute with Podcast Partner
Television personality Karl Stefanovic has resolved a legal battle with former business partner Keshnee Ibrahim over their podcast company.
Karl Stefanovic has reached a confidential settlement with his former podcast business partner, Keshnee Ibrahim, ending a legal dispute that was scheduled to return to the NSW Supreme Court.
Sources suggest the agreement could be worth seven figures, though the financial terms have not been publicly disclosed. The settlement allows Stefanovic to acquire Ibrahim's 45 percent stake in 123 Podcast Pty Ltd, the company behind his independent venture, The Karl Stefanovic Show. Ibrahim will exit the company as a shareholder and director, and has agreed to discontinue the legal proceedings she initiated against Stefanovic.
The resolution comes after a Supreme Court judge expressed frustration over delays in valuing the business. Justice David Hammerschlag had urged both parties to expedite the process, suggesting they seek a more efficient expert or submit their own company valuations if the court-appointed valuer could not meet deadlines. The judge reportedly stated, "I'm not putting up with this," questioning the prolonged timeline.
The settlement negates the need for a hearing scheduled for October 13 and 14, where Stefanovic was expected to provide testimony that might have revealed further details about the podcast's finances and his past departure from Channel Nine.
According to court documents filed in September, Ibrahim's legal team stated that she was approached by Stefanovic to build and operate the podcast business. While Stefanovic served as the on-air talent, Ibrahim is understood to have managed the operational aspects, including audience growth, sponsorships, and commercial opportunities, during Stefanovic's tenure on Channel Nine's Today Show. Ibrahim has a background in magazine editing and previously served as Woolworths' head of content.
