Television host Karl Stefanovic has strongly criticized Australian politicians, attributing the nation's cost of living crisis to "short-term political agendas, election cycle sugar hits and a complete lack of long-term structural courage." In a recent social media video, Stefanovic argued that the "Australian way of life" is under threat due to decisions made by successive governments.

Stefanovic contended that "not a single elected person in government can look any of us in the eye or hold their head high" given the current economic situation. He acknowledged that international conflicts contributing to energy shocks have exacerbated inflation, but emphasized that excessive government borrowing has made it harder for citizens to cope.

"The cold hard reality is that the last two governments, regardless of the colour of their political jerseys, have spent their way into an absolute abyss, states included," Stefanovic stated. "They've borrowed against our future to buy votes in the present, leaving us exposed to the elements when the economic cycle turned."

He warned that ordinary Australians and younger generations will ultimately bear the financial burden of this "political cowardice and short-sightedness." Stefanovic concluded that instead of complex economic explanations, people struggling with rising interest rates and unaffordable power bills simply need to see action from their leaders.

Stefanovic said ordinary Australians and younger generations would be left footing the bill for the 'political cowardice and short-sightedness' of today's leaders
