Karl-Anthony Towns exhibited a strong performance in the New York Knicks' 122-120 preseason finale victory against the Toronto Raptors on Thursday. Towns, playing in a role reminiscent of his dominant postseason form, orchestrated the offense from the top of the key, tallying six assists and five points within the first seven and a half minutes of the game.

Towns finished the night with 13 points and a game-high 15 rebounds in 28 minutes played, narrowly missing a triple-double. This performance marked his best of the preseason, contributing to the Knicks' lone win in their four exhibition games. "Yeah, I feel good," Towns said when asked about his rhythm. "I feel really, really good."

Coach Mike Brown indicated a willingness to utilize Towns as a central facilitator this season, a strategy that proved effective in the playoffs. However, the game also highlighted potential adjustments opponents might make. In the third quarter, when Toronto's top defender Scottie Barnes was assigned to guard Towns, he managed to contain him. This suggests that as teams review game film, they may develop strategies to counter the Knicks' offensive approach.

The Knicks will begin their regular season on Tuesday with Banner Night against the Sixers. Towns' role as a facilitator will likely be a key element for the team to manage as the season commences.

"I thought today was a good dress rehearsal," Towns stated. "It was cool, it was very nice to get back out there and get back into our flow and be really good. Obviously we have a lot of things to work on. But it was a good way to end the preseason."

Forward Josh Hart was the only starter who did not participate in the preseason finale due to a sore right ankle. However, Brown indicated that the injury should not affect Hart's availability for the season opener.
