Country music singer Karen Waldrup has spoken out about the profound impact of her faith and reliance on the Bible during a difficult divorce in the fall of 2025. Waldrup, a finalist on "The Voice" and a Nashville-based artist, described the period as "awful" but found solace and strength through her Christian beliefs.

Waldrup's new song, "Keeping the Faith," was born from this experience. She told Fox News Digital that the creation of the song was cathartic, even on the toughest days in the studio. "I think you can kind of hear it in the vocal, the desperation of keeping the faith and saying, ‘Hey, you know what, no matter what goes on, you got to get back up and go,’" she said.

In February, Waldrup announced the end of her marriage on social media, stating it had been a "deeply personal journey." She expressed gratitude for the support she received and asked for kindness as she moved forward.

During the divorce proceedings, Waldrup found comfort in daily scripture reading and even kept her Bible in bed with her at night. "My faith definitely carried me through that season," she stated. She also emphasized the importance of a close support system, creating a list of trusted individuals, including God, with whom she could share her struggles without judgment.

Waldrup, who has released seven studio albums and over 50 songs, believes her music serves a purpose beyond personal expression. "I do think part of my purpose in music is to inspire," she said. "This music is a gift, this show is a gift, this moment is a gift."

She credits her friends for their unwavering belief in her ability to overcome the hardship. "My friends believed in me. They believed I would get through it. They never doubted me," Waldrup recalled. She highlighted the strategy of limiting discussions about her difficulties to a select few who offered encouragement.

Waldrup's latest single, "Just in Case," is now available. She views her life and career as an opportunity to share messages of faith, music, joy, and love, believing she is fulfilling God's purpose for her life.
