Karen Sharpe and Daughter Kat Kramer Step Out in Los Angeles

Veteran actress Karen Sharpe, 92, and her daughter, Kat Kramer, were seen together at a Los Angeles event this week, presenting a picture of enduring Hollywood glamour. Sharpe, known for her roles in the 1950s and 60s, appeared in a turquoise blazer, while Kramer, 41, sported a vibrant red blouse.

Sharpe, who was once dubbed a blonde bombshell, was married to acclaimed filmmaker Stanley Kramer. She starred in the 1954 film "The High and the Mighty" alongside John Wayne, earning a Golden Globe for her role. She also appeared in "The Disorderly Orderly" with Jerry Lewis. Sharpe's television credits include the Western series "Johnny Ringo," as well as guest spots on "Gunsmoke," "Bonanza," and "I Dream of Jeannie."

Kat Kramer, named after screen legend Katharine Hepburn, followed her parents into the entertainment industry. She was recognized as Miss Golden Globe Ambassador at the 1990 Golden Globe Awards. Kramer has had a career in stage and film, earning accolades for her performances as Helen Keller in "The Miracle Worker" and Anne Frank in "The Diary of Anne Frank." She also appeared in films such as "Going Shopping" (2005), "What Just Happened" (2008), and "Little Fockers" (2010).

Kramer has also continued to be involved with the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center and received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Luxury Oscar Gala in 2024. She remains active as an actor and producer.

Sharpe, whose career spanned decades, retired from acting in 2021. Her marriage to Stanley Kramer, who directed films like "The Defiant Ones" and "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," lasted until his death in 2001. The couple had two children together, Kat and Jennifer. Stanley Kramer also had two children from a previous marriage, whom Sharpe helped raise.
