Kanye West and Kim Kardashian appeared together on Saturday night to support their daughter North at her debut solo concert in Chicago. The exes were observed in the VIP balcony of The Vic Theatre, cheering on the 13-year-old during her sold-out, one-night performance.
Fan footage shared on Instagram showed the parents watching as North performed tracks from her EP, NOrth4evr, including a new song that incorporated a sample from West's "Coldest Winter." West, who is from Chicago, was seen recording the performance on his phone and grooving to the music. Kardashian was observed smiling and pointing at her daughter on stage.
Kardashian shared a video from the event on her Instagram Stories, capturing the audience's enthusiastic response and North's performance. Unlike performances that feature numerous background dancers, North's show focused attention entirely on her. She was accompanied by two backup dancers who performed synchronized routines.
West was seen leaving the venue after the concert, accompanied by his security detail amidst a crowd of fans. Both West and Kardashian had other engagements in Chicago. Kardashian visited the flagship SKIMS store in the Gold Coast neighborhood, sharing photos from her visit on Instagram. Earlier in the week, West performed at Soldier Field with several guest artists, including Common, Rick Ross, Travis Scott, and Lupe Fiasco.
Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021, with their divorce finalized in November 2022. They agreed to joint custody of their four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Kardashian generally handles the majority of the parenting responsibilities.
North has demonstrated musical aspirations from a young age, first appearing on stage rapping at her father's Yeezy fashion show in Paris when she was six. In May 2024, she performed "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" live at the Hollywood Bowl. She also performed "Talking" and "Piercing on My Hand" with West during his concert at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium in April. In May 2024, she released her EP NOrth4evr and made her music festival debut at Rolling Loud in Orlando, Florida.
