Vice President Kamala Harris has accused Republicans of "cheating" in the lead-up to the midterm elections, stating her primary focus is on preventing what she described as "madness" by ensuring Democratic victories.
In an interview on the podcast "What Are You Like?" with former soccer star Megan Rapinoe, Harris said, "We have to win these midterms. These — these folks are cheating. They’re redrawing lines. They’re trying to make it more difficult for people to vote so they won’t vote because they are afraid of the power of the people."
Harris articulated her commitment to the upcoming elections, stating, "Midterms, midterms, midterms, full-time occupying my thoughts, my mind and my work." She emphasized her dedication to helping restore "balance in our government" by winning back control of the House and Senate.
When asked about her motivation for public service, Harris responded, "I don’t know how to live and not serve. I honestly don’t. It’s something I’ve come to terms with. I don’t know how to, I just don’t know a life without figuring out how I can help move the needle."
Responding to Harris's remarks, Ally Triolo, the RNC's election integrity Communications Director, told Fox News Digital that "Voter ID and proof of citizenship are common sense, but Democrats can’t win elections without cheating the system."
Rapinoe also inquired about potential future political aspirations. Harris stated she had not yet decided on a run in 2028, adding, "From my perspective, ’28 doesn’t matter if we don’t win ’26."
In a separate interview last week, Harris expressed support for Democratic candidates who may prefer not to campaign with her, asserting that "we need to win." She stated her willingness to assist wherever she can be helpful, aiming to "put a check on this lawless administration and deliver what Americans need and deserve. Lower costs, affordable healthcare, affordable childcare, you name it."
