Kaia Gerber Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Late Brother Presley

Kaia Gerber has broken her silence on the tragic death of her brother, Presley Gerber, sharing an emotional tribute nearly a month after his passing. Presley died on Sept. 20 at the age of 27.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Kaia captioned a series of childhood videos and photos of herself and Presley with a poignant message.

"i love you the bluest, to the moon and back and back again, forever big brother," she wrote. "you know how much i loved being your sister. it has always been, and will forever be, my favorite thing about myself. i came into this world with a white-knuckle grip around you. i had more love for you than i knew what to do with. and now that it has nowhere obvious to go, i’m certain it’s going to swallow me whole."

Gerber continued, "to say loving you was the easiest thing in the world would imply that it required any effort at all. i was born loving you. i will die loving you. there was never anything else." She added that she is "learning how to love [him] when [she] cannot see [him]" and admitted she does not yet know how.

Despite knowing "where it ends," Gerber stated, "i would choose it all over again. every second. i would walk knowingly toward this grief if it meant that on the other side of it i got to be your sister." She concluded her personal message by saying, "my darling brother, i do adore you. i love my brother. my brother is dead. and this party sucks so bad without you, prez."

On Oct. 18, Kaia joined her parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, in a statement shared on Crawford's Instagram. The joint message read, "We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother. We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever."

The family statement continued, "We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many who know and love our family and even strangers who feel our pain. Til we meet again our sweet boy. We love you forever, Mom, Dad and Kaia 🪽."

Presley died at a rehab facility in Santa Monica, California. Sources indicated he had checked himself in for treatment the day before his death. An official cause of death has not been announced, but 911 audio suggested he experienced cardiac arrest and was being treated for a suspected overdose.

Months prior to his death, Cindy Crawford spoke about the close bond between Kaia and Presley. In a May interview with People, she said, "Nothing makes, I think, a parent prouder than when your kids like each other and love each other."

Kaia had also spoken about her brother's struggles with addiction and mental health in a Vogue cover story in September, noting that such challenges in a family can "level everyone."

Insiders close to the family told Page Six that Crawford was devastated by the loss, emphasizing the deep connection between Kaia and Presley, describing them as "more than just siblings" and the family as "tight-knit."
