Kaia Gerber Grieving Loss of 'Best Friend' Presley

Model Kaia Gerber is finding it difficult to cope with the loss of her brother and "best friend," Presley Gerber, who died in a rehabilitation facility on September 20. A source close to the family described their bond as exceptionally strong, stating, "They were way more than brother and sister. She is heartbroken. They were like best friends."

Presley Gerber, 27, died of an apparent overdose while residing at a luxurious rehabilitation home in Santa Monica, California. Insiders reported that he had checked into the facility just days before his death.

Kaia and Presley, the only children of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, grew up together in Malibu. Their close relationship was evident, with Presley even getting a tattoo of his younger sister's name on his arm in 2018. Both siblings followed their mother into the modeling industry, often attending events together.

Cindy Crawford had spoken about the deep connection between her children just months prior to Presley's death. In an interview with People in May, she expressed pride in their bond, calling it "amazing" to have spent time with them during a family photoshoot. "Nothing makes, I think, a parent prouder than when your kids like each other and love each other," she stated.

A source told Page Six that Cindy Crawford is "devastated" and "inconsolable" by the death of her only son, describing the situation as "every parent's worst nightmare."

Presley Gerber had been open about his struggles with opioid addiction and depression. In 2018, he faced legal trouble after a DUI arrest, for which he received three years of probation. Throughout his challenges, his family offered consistent support, with his mother being a strong advocate for him.
