Kaia Gerber, daughter of Cindy Crawford, and Homer Gere, son of Richard Gere, recently attended a promotional event for their upcoming series "The Shards." The actors, aged 24 and 26 respectively, are featured in the new production created by Ryan Murphy.

Gerber showcased a striking resemblance to her supermodel mother, wearing an ab-flashing crop top and high-waisted skirt. Gere, adhering to a sharp aesthetic, appeared in a dark suit.

The series "The Shards" is based on Bret Easton Ellis's novel of the same name. The story is set in 1980s Los Angeles and follows a group of privileged high school students who become targets of a serial killer. The novel is described as a fictionalized account of Ellis's adolescence, with many characters inspired by real individuals.

The official logline for the series states that Igby Rigney plays Bret, an aspiring writer whose reality shifts with the arrival of Robert Mallory, portrayed by Gere. Mallory transfers in before his senior year, and his appearance coincides with the escalating terror caused by "The Trawler," a serial killer targeting teenagers across the city.

Bret's social circle, including Susan Reynolds, played by Gerber, and other characters like Debbie Schaffer and Thom Wright, are drawn into a world of wealth, beauty, parties, and excess. The series contrasts the promise of youth with the darker aspects of the adult world surrounding them, with characters like Terry Schaffer, Liz Schaffer, and Steven Reinhardt.

Initially, "The Shards" TV series was in development with Oscar-winner Luca Guadagnino for HBO. The project later fell through before being revived by Murphy for FX.

Gerber has established herself in the modeling industry, receiving Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2018 and appearing on the cover of Vogue multiple times. Her acting credits include a recurring role in "Palm Royale" and the film "Mother Mary."

Homer Gere's parents, Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere, married in Las Vegas in 1991 and divorced in 1995. Crawford has spoken about adapting her interests early in her relationship with Gere, noting that "In the beginning of a relationship, when you’re a young woman, you’re like: 'You like baseball? I like baseball.' You’re willing to kind of mold yourself around whoever you are in love with." Crawford, who is 17 years Gere's junior, married Rande Gerber in 1998. Richard Gere was previously married to Carey Lowell from 2002 to 2016 and is currently married to Alejandra Silva.
