Kai Trump, the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, became emotional as she prepared to start her freshman year at the University of Miami. The 18-year-old shared her feelings in a YouTube vlog posted over the weekend, where she described herself as "really struggling" with the transition.

"I'm not a very emotional person at all, so this is like really weird for me to cry," Kai said in the video, noting that she has rarely cried in her life. "I think knowing that I have to say goodbye to everyone tonight really, really sucks."

Despite her tears, Trump expressed excitement for her "next chapter" and moving on, acknowledging that "it happens to everyone."

She chose not to film her goodbyes with family and friends, explaining that she wanted to be "present" during those moments. Her mother, Vanessa Trump, assisted her in moving into her new apartment.

Vanessa Trump shared on social media that they spent "HOURS shopping for everything" Kai would need for her dorm. Kai expressed gratitude for her mother's help, calling her "the BEST mom" and noting that her mother "was definitely getting emotional because she got quiet" during their shopping trip.

Vanessa Trump quipped about her daughter's departure, saying, "I think this is amazing. One child out and four more to go." She shares Kai and four other children—Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe—with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr. Vanessa Trump is also currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, a diagnosis Kai publicly supported by calling her mother "the strongest person" she knows.
