Kai Trump, daughter of Vanessa Trump, has provided an update on her mother's ongoing battle with breast cancer, revealing that the radiation treatment has been taxing on her body. Vanessa Trump, 48, publicly disclosed her diagnosis in May and subsequently underwent surgery, with radiation marking the second phase of her medical treatment.
During an appearance on "Fox and Friends" on Thursday morning, Kai Trump, 19, shared that while her mother is "doing better," the effects of radiation have been significant. "She's been a little tired but she's a fighter," Kai said, expressing hope for her mother's recovery.
On Wednesday evening at the ESPY Awards in New York, Kai also spoke about her mother's health. "My mom's doing good. She's doing better," she told Page Six on the red carpet.
Sources close to the couple have indicated that Vanessa has received substantial support from her boyfriend, golfer Tiger Woods, whom she began dating in 2025. An insider told People that Woods, 50, has been "amazing" throughout Vanessa's diagnosis and has focused on her recovery.
"Vanessa's needs and issues have taken Tiger's thoughts outside of his own legal, medical and personal struggles, which has been good for him," the source said, adding that Woods has been a source of "a lot of love" for Vanessa, even while he was working through his own challenges. "It shows he has character."
The couple "are optimistic about her treatments," according to the source. "Like anyone diagnosed with this disease, she is anxious but also strong and eager to move beyond. She is loved and receiving a great deal of support."
At the ESPY Awards, Kai Trump also commented on her recent attendance at a UFC event at the White House for President Donald Trump's 80th birthday, addressing the integration of sports and politics. "Honestly, I kind of stay out of politics completely, it's not my thing, but I think the UFC event was great and it was really cool being there," she said. "Especially having veterans in the stadium as well, that's where you can kind of combine the 250 point of view on it."
Kai Trump, a freshman at the University of Miami, emphasized her focus on inspiring young female golfers. "I just like showing my life and showing how you can still be an athlete, and you can still do a ton of cool things, enjoy a ton of other things," she stated. "I kind of like just showing people that everything's possible."
"I love showing the new generation my progress through college, eventually, and how I got to where I am today," Kai added.
