Kai Trump, granddaughter of former President Donald Trump, is sharing insights gained from her family's experience with her mother Vanessa Trump's breast cancer diagnosis. As Kai begins her freshman year at the University of Miami and joins the golf team, she reflects on the importance of presence and support during challenging health journeys.
"The advice I'd give is just … spend time with them, be there for them," Kai told Fox News Digital. "It's a long journey." She emphasized that while such experiences involve ups and downs, consistent support is crucial. "It's always going to be up and down and kind of all over the place, but just be there for your family member, and be there as support and just spend time with them."
Vanessa Trump revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in May. By June, she reported being post-surgery and preparing for subsequent treatment phases. Kai, the eldest of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump’s five children, noted that she and her siblings increased their responsibilities at home to support their mother.
"She always really took care of her five kids, and then going through the treatment, we all had to like step in and help out — which we always do — but just … making sure she's very calm and not stressed and stuff like that," Kai said. "It's obviously a very tough thing, especially when my mom has a lot of kids."
Charitable Merchandise Launch
Inspired by this experience, Kai has launched a new merchandise collection that includes a charitable component benefiting breast cancer causes. The collection, which debuted Wednesday, aims to contribute to breast cancer research and support for affected families.
"My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in May and hearing her go through treatment and then obviously being with her through the treatments, I just want to give back and give money back to breast cancer," Kai explained. She hopes the initiative will help fund additional research and aid other families facing similar health challenges.
This is not Kai's first venture into merchandise; her apparel shop initially launched in September 2025 with KT-branded crewneck sweatshirts. The latest collection expands to include tank tops, sweaters, bags, and hats, covering a wide range of apparel categories.
