Kai Trump, granddaughter of former President Donald Trump, has revealed the details of her diet and exercise routine that have led to a more defined physique, which she attributes in part to her mother, Vanessa Trump's, own health consciousness.
Trump, 19, is preparing for her freshman season on the University of Miami golf team after recovering from wrist surgery in January. She told Fox News that her goal was to achieve a "six-pack" within seven months by focusing on nutrition and workouts.
"I literally told them, 'I have seven months before I return to golf, we're getting a six-pack,'" Trump said. "And I got a six-pack literally just by prioritizing the right foods and working out."
She has adopted a diet that includes 150 grams of protein daily and excludes gluten and dairy. Her food choices are described as "sustainable carbs" and simple items like ground beef, steak, or chicken and rice.
Trump noted her mother Vanessa's influence on her eating habits. "Seeing how she eats and what she prioritizes ... I kind of grew into that," Kai said. Vanessa Trump was diagnosed with breast cancer in May.
Beyond diet, Trump emphasizes the importance of physical activity for mental well-being. "Nothing clears your head better than going to the gym and working out," she stated. "Even if you're not lifting heavy or if you're just walking on the treadmill, being active clears your head and helps your mental health."
Trump has cultivated a significant online presence with 1.5 million followers on YouTube, where she shares golf content and aspects of her life. She has intentionally avoided political topics on her platform, stating, "It's just not my thing." Instead, she focuses on showcasing her journey as an athlete and influencer.
Her athletic achievements include a runner-up finish at the 2025 Major Championship at Village Golf Course and the 2024 Martin County Junior Open. She also competed in an LPGA event, the Annika tournament, in November, where she expressed overcoming initial nerves to play more calmly on the second day.
The University of Miami golf team is scheduled to begin its season on September 8 at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, South Carolina. Gary Player, a friend of Donald Trump, has stated that "a strong core is the engine of a powerful golf swing," a principle Kai Trump appears to be actively applying to her game.
