Kai Trump, granddaughter of former President Donald Trump, has shared details of her challenging and emotional transition to college life at the University of Miami. In a YouTube vlog, the 19-year-old freshman on the women's golf team documented her final days at home, the moving process, and an unexpected illness that affected her first week on campus.
Trump described feeling emotional about leaving her home routine and friends behind. "I’ve been like literally sobbing," she said in the vlog, noting that her tearful reaction was unusual for her. Her best friend, Emma, assisted with her move into her Miami apartment and ensured she had food, as Trump admitted to not eating for approximately three days amid the relocation and stress.
The vlog also captured the early demands of her academic and athletic schedule, including a 7 a.m. team meeting on her first Monday. Trump showed off her official University of Miami women's golf team gear, which included apparel and specialized practice equipment. However, her initial week was cut short when she fell ill with strep throat shortly after classes began.
"I came all the way back to Jupiter because I was so sick. I needed like my mom to nurse me back to health," Trump explained, referencing her return home for care. Trump is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump.
In separate family news, Vanessa Trump was recently accompanied by golfer Tiger Woods to a plea conference hearing in Florida related to a DUI case from March.
