Kacey Montoya Returns to TV News at FOX 11 Six Months After KTLA Layoffs
The popular Los Angeles weathercaster makes her on-air comeback at a rival station following a period focused on her animal welfare nonprofit.
Kacey Montoya, a familiar face in Los Angeles weather forecasting, is returning to television on FOX 11. The announcement comes six months after she was laid off from KTLA as part of corporate downsizing.
Montoya confirmed her new role in a social media post, sharing a behind-the-scenes look at her new newsroom as she prepared weather maps and rehearsed segments. "This is the first that I’ve been on air in six months since we worked at the other place," she stated, expressing her excitement for the return. Fans can catch her on air starting Thursday evening.
Her return to television drew positive reactions from colleagues. KTLA meteorologist Vera Jimenez commented, "Yay! So glad your back on!!" while FOX 11 anchor Brooke Thomas shared, "Yay can’t wait for our first newscast together!"
Following her departure from KTLA in April, Montoya dedicated her time to Fix’n Fidos, her animal welfare nonprofit organization. The organization provides spay and neuter services throughout Southern California. Montoya also offered a sneak peek at the Halloween forecast in her social media posts, engaging viewers by asking if rain was expected to affect holiday plans.
