Actress Justine Bateman has publicly criticized the supporters of Lindsay Clancy, a mother accused of killing her three young children. Bateman shared her views in an Instagram post on Tuesday, calling the supporters "killer mom" Clancy's courthouse supporters "broken." The post included two photos of Bateman holding her own children.

"Considering the very disturbing and macabre case and 'support videos' about mothering and babies, here's some counter-programming," Bateman, 60, wrote in the caption. "Moms who love their kids far outnumber the broken display we've seen lately. #ILoveMyKids."

Clancy, 36, is accused of strangling her children, Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan, at their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. She has since admitted to the killings but pleaded not guilty to murder by reason of insanity, citing postpartum psychosis. Her defense seeks her commitment to a state mental health facility rather than a prison sentence.

Prosecutors contend that Clancy meticulously planned the killings and arranged for her husband to be out of the house. The trial has been ongoing for five weeks, with the final witness testifying Tuesday.

Last week, approximately 400 women gathered in solidarity with Clancy in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The group, which included mothers who had experienced postpartum anxiety and depression, cheered and clapped as Clancy was transported to court. Some attendees traveled from New York City and Maine for the event. Attendees expressed feelings of solidarity, with one pregnant mother stating, "The healthcare failed her, and that's just tragic."

FBI forensic psychiatrist Dr. Gregory Saathoff testified as the prosecution's final rebuttal witness. Judge William Sullivan indicated that evidence presentation is expected to conclude Wednesday, followed by meetings with attorneys. Closing arguments are anticipated for Thursday, after which the jury will begin deliberations.

Bateman, known for her roles in "Family Ties" and "Californication," has previously voiced strong opinions on public matters, including a past criticism of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. She is the sister of actor Jason Bateman and has two children with her husband, Mark Fluent.
