Justin Tucker Joins Kansas City Chiefs Practice Squad After Suspension
The acclaimed kicker returns to the NFL after a 10-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy.
Justin Tucker is rejoining the National Football League, signing with the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad after completing a 10-game suspension. The move comes as the Chiefs have experienced kicking inconsistencies, notably with Harrison Butker.
In January 2025, The Baltimore Banner reported that 16 female massage therapists had accused Tucker of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior during sessions between 2012 and 2016. The accusers claimed they ended sessions early or refused to work with Tucker again due to the allegations, and the report stated Tucker was banned from two spas, though his legal team denied this. Specific allegations included claims of him being erect during sessions and exposing himself.
Seven more women came forward with similar allegations in February 2025, accusing Tucker of inappropriate conduct at luxury spas in Baltimore. Tucker has denied all allegations, stating in a released statement, "I maintain I did not act inappropriately at any point before, during, or after a professional bodywork treatment session, nor have I ever been told I am unwelcome at any massage therapy provider." He added that he had never intended to disrespect anyone or make them feel uncomfortable, and expressed sorrow if anyone felt disrespected.
Tucker was released by the Baltimore Ravens in May 2025 after 13 seasons. He was never criminally charged or sued civilly. The situation drew comparisons to allegations made against Deshaun Watson, who faced similar accusations from multiple massage therapists and received an 11-game suspension.
Tucker, who will turn 37 next month, is coming off his statistically worst season in 2024, making 73.3% of his field goals. Despite this, he remains a highly regarded kicker with a career field goal percentage of 89.1%, the second-best in NFL history. He is a five-time first-team All-Pro and a seven-time Pro Bowl selection.
Tucker previously worked out for the New York Jets in the month prior to this signing. The Chiefs' punter, Matt Araiza, was previously involved in a disputed legal matter that has since been dropped.
