Justin Tucker Joins Chiefs' Practice Squad Amid Butker's Struggles

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed veteran kicker Justin Tucker to their practice squad. This move comes as Harrison Butker experiences a career-worst start to the season, converting just 68.8% of his field goal attempts. Butker missed two of his three kicks in the Chiefs' recent loss to the Seahawks, including a 58-yard attempt that fell short.

Tucker, 36, was released by the Baltimore Ravens after facing multiple accusations of misconduct from massage therapists. He was suspended by the league for 10 games before the 2025 season due to the scandal. The Chiefs represent Tucker's first opportunity with an NFL team since his release, following a workout with the New York Jets earlier this year.

The signing addresses a critical need for the Chiefs, as Butker's performance has declined significantly. Missing from 58 yards is considered unacceptable in the current NFL landscape, where many kickers can reliably make attempts from beyond 60 yards.
