Justin Trudeau's 18-year-old son, Xavier, has shared a video clip featuring his father and Katy Perry reacting to his new single, "Downtown," while inside a Canadian hardware store. The clip, posted by Xavier as he pursues a career in music and modeling, shows the group amidst store aisles.

In the video, Perry is seen zooming in on a store speaker as the song begins to play. Xavier, who is the eldest of Trudeau's three children with his ex-wife Sophie Grégoire, then pans to his father. Trudeau is seen dancing down an aisle, playfully wielding a plunger and wearing sunglasses. Perry also appears in the clip, dancing and holding the camera as Xavier announces his song is available on streaming platforms.

Xavier has spoken about the pressure of his family's fame, telling GQ that he aims to build his own name and achieve success in his own way. He is pursuing careers in both music and modeling.

Prime Minister Trudeau and Perry have been publicly linked for over a year, with rumors of their romance first surfacing in July of the previous year. They made their relationship Instagram official in December. In recent weeks, Trudeau shared a montage of personal highlights on Instagram, which included a photo of himself and Perry enjoying a beer together.

The couple made their red carpet debut at the Tribeca Festival, attending the premiere of the concert film "Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris." Perry described feeling like a more grounded person and "very in love" during that period. Perry was previously in a long-term relationship with actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a five-year-old daughter. They began dating in 2016 and announced their separation in mid-2023, stating a focus on co-parenting.
