Jurors in the trial of Lindsay Clancy have reached a deadlock after four days of deliberations, according to reports from inside the courtroom. Clancy, a 36-year-old former nurse, faces murder charges in connection with the deaths of her three young children at their family home in January 2023.
Her defense does not dispute that Clancy committed the killings. Instead, the legal team argues that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time of the events, rendering her unable to understand the wrongfulness of her actions. The jury began further deliberations on Tuesday and, after several hours, was instructed to return Wednesday morning.
The BBC's Ana Faguy was present in the courtroom as the jury's deadlock was announced.
