Juror's Attorney Calls Clancy Defense Motion 'Attack on US Constitution'

The attorney for Michael Desronvil, the sole juror who voted to convict Lindsay Clancy of murder, has denounced a motion filed by Clancy's defense team as a "full-frontal attack on the U.S. Constitution."

Edward Paltzik, representing Desronvil, stated that the motion filed by Clancy's attorney, Kevin Reddington, is a "Looney Tunes motion" targeting his "on his courageous client." Paltzik further argued that if "jurors are going to face brutal reprisals for disagreeing with a defense attorney, you can kiss the Sixth Amendment goodbye."

Reddington's motion, filed Tuesday, requests that the judge who presided over Clancy's mistrial investigate Desronvil. The defense attorney cited claims that Desronvil may have inaccurately completed jury forms or provided incorrect answers during the selection process. The motion also referenced allegations that Desronvil used his cellphone during deliberations.

Clancy, who was accused of murdering her three young children, was the subject of a mistrial declared after the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict. Desronvil was reportedly the only juror who favored a conviction.

Reddington had not immediately responded to requests for comment.
