A male juror in the mistrial of Lindsay Clancy described a disturbing reenactment by a holdout juror who used an exercise band, similar to those used by Clancy to kill her three children, to mimic the strangulations in the deliberation room. Juror number 10, Nick Dargie, stated that this action left the other jurors speechless.
"I was so shocked. We're not here to play detective – it's not a game of Clue. This is serious," Dargie told ABC News in an interview. He recounted confronting the holdout juror, asking, "Why are you doing that? That's a band that was used to strangle a child. That's disgusting."
Dargie, one of three male jurors on the panel, also accused the unnamed holdout juror, who ultimately led to an 11-1 deadlock and a mistrial, of being disengaged during deliberations. He noted that this juror would frequently scroll through his phone while others were speaking.
Dargie admitted that several jurors were initially leaning towards a guilty verdict. However, he ultimately found the prosecution's case "inconsistent" and believed the experts presented by the defense were more credible. The mistrial was declared in the case of Lindsay Clancy, accused of murdering her three young children in Duxbury, Massachusetts.
