Julianne Moore Attends Paris Event with Daughter Liv Freundlich
The Oscar-winning actress, who recently expressed a disinterest in violent film narratives, was seen with her daughter at a jewelry event during Paris Fashion Week.
Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore, 65, appeared at a MESSIKA jewelry event in Paris on Thursday alongside her daughter, Liv Freundlich, 24. The pair, who are rarely seen together publicly, attended the event in the French capital as part of Paris Fashion Week.
Moore was elegantly dressed in a cream textured maxi dress, complemented by a sparkling necklace and earrings. Freundlich opted for a black minidress with pointed heels. Both mother and daughter appeared to be in good spirits, posing for photographs together.
Moore shares Liv and her son, Caleb, 28, with her husband, director Bart Freundlich, whom she married in 2003. Freundlich also made a rare public appearance with his wife and son in March at the Love Rocks NYC concert.
This outing comes several months after Moore stated at the Cannes Film Festival that she is increasingly uninterested in films that feature violence or gratuitous drama. She explained at the festival, where she was honored with the Women In Motion award, that she finds it difficult to engage with fictional narratives that lack emotional depth, particularly when the world is facing significant real-world challenges.
"I'm less and less interested in tragedy I would say," Moore stated. "I think that particularly now at a time when things are really rough globally it's very difficult for me to invest in a story that I think is pretend; where I feel like the depth of the emotion, the measure of it, doesn't measure up to what's happening in the world. I don't feel like I want to engage in it."
She further elaborated on her preferences, saying, "I don't like easy stakes. I don't like someone being murdered, I don't like explosions and guns, I don't like histrionics, I don't like things that raise the stakes without real feeling underneath. That really bothers me because that's just noise. I don't know how to play it, and I don't want to watch it."
Moore's upcoming film projects include the musical comedy "The Debut" by Jesse Eisenberg and a role in Tom Ford's "Cry to Heaven." She also produced and starred in the 2023 Apple TV+ thriller "Sharper."
