Julia Roberts marked her 24th wedding anniversary on Saturday by sharing a rare photograph of herself with her husband, Danny Moder. The image, posted to Instagram, showed the couple leaning into each other with Roberts resting her head on Moder's shoulder.
"TWENTY FOUR. MORE MORE MORE," Roberts captioned the photo. The couple, who both wore dark sunglasses in the image, married in a Fourth of July ceremony in 2002 at Roberts’ ranch in Taos, New Mexico. They met in 2000 on the set of the film "The Mexican," where Roberts was the star and Moder worked as a cinematographer.
Roberts, 58, and Moder share three children: 21-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, who are both in college, and 19-year-old Henry, who is studying art and design in Manhattan. The couple resides in a Malibu home with features such as rooftop solar panels, greenhouses, and beehives.
Roberts, known for keeping her family life relatively private, rarely posts personal photos. The anniversary post drew congratulatory messages from celebrity friends, including Rita Wilson and Ali Wentworth.
In previous interviews, Roberts has spoken about her family life and her relationship with Moder. She told Entertainment Tonight last year that Moder remains the greatest source of joy in her life. In a 2022 interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, she described her role as a homemaker as her full-time job when not working as an actress, stating that while it's not always easy, it brings her joy. She also emphasized that her acting career, while a dream come true, is not her only one, and that the life she has built with her husband and children is the most rewarding.
Roberts has also shared details about how she and Moder maintain their connection, even when apart. She revealed that they have always exchanged handwritten notes, and she still keeps the first seven-page letter Moder ever wrote her.
