Julia Haart Wins Sole Ownership of Elite Models in $90 Million Divorce Settlement
A four-year legal battle concludes with "My Unorthodox Life" star Julia Haart gaining full control of the modeling agency and a $57 million Tribeca apartment.
The contentious four-year divorce between "My Unorthodox Life" star Julia Haart and her estranged husband, Silvio Scaglia, has concluded with Haart securing sole ownership of the prominent modeling agency Elite World Group (EWG) and their $57 million Tribeca apartment, as part of a $90 million settlement.
Court documents reveal allegations that Scaglia, who purchased Elite Models in 2011, misused company funds during the divorce proceedings. Haart, appointed CEO of EWG in March 2019 shortly before their marriage, hired a forensic accountant who reportedly found evidence of Scaglia transferring millions of dollars to third parties, including payments to himself and his fiancée, Michelle Marie Heinemann. The accountant's findings indicated that company funds were used to purchase luxury vehicles, such as two Bentleys and a Porsche, as well as jewelry from Van Cleef & Arpels.
The court determined that Scaglia had transferred such substantial sums from the company that its value had diminished significantly. Consequently, the court awarded Haart 100% ownership of EWG. She is also set to receive half of the funds Scaglia allegedly withdrew, which is estimated to be over $25 million.
Haart expressed profound gratitude for the court's decision, stating, "for finally seeing the truth come out after four and a half years." She added that while Scaglia and his associates have been held in contempt of court, arrest warrants remain pending, emphasizing the need for accountability.
Scaglia, who has denied previous allegations made against him, did not respond to requests for comment. The divorce proceedings, initiated by Haart in 2022, involved numerous lawsuits and countersuits concerning control of Elite and associated companies. At one point, arrest warrants were issued for Scaglia as part of the legal drama.
