Julia Haart's Ex-Husband Faces Jail Time After Divorce Woes

Silvio Scaglia, the former husband of reality television personality Julia Haart, has been issued a no-bail bench warrant for his arrest, compelling him to surrender to authorities for a 14-day jail sentence. The order comes after a New York judge found Scaglia in both civil and criminal contempt for alleged violations of court orders during his proceedings with Haart.

The divorce, which concluded with Haart retaining the modeling agency Elite and their Tribeca apartment valued at $57 million, has resurfaced with new legal drama for Scaglia. According to court documents, the Italian businessman is accused of unlawfully transferring shared assets from Elite World Group without Haart's permission after the divorce proceedings had officially begun. Judge Jeffrey Pearlman reportedly stated that Scaglia had "siphoned" assets, referencing prior findings that Scaglia had purchased luxury vehicles and jewelry using company funds.

This is not the first instance of legal repercussions for Scaglia regarding the divorce. He previously faced a court order for a 20-day jail term for failing to comply with a court order to pay Haart $300,000. At the time of the warrant's issuance, Scaglia was reportedly residing in Italy and had not yet submitted to U.S. authorities.

Scaglia, who purchased Elite in 2011, appointed Haart, star of the Netflix reality show "My Unorthodox Life," as CEO in March 2019, and they married later that year. Their separation in 2022 led to a series of legal disputes, with Scaglia initially accusing Haart of misappropriating funds. However, the court ultimately awarded Haart full ownership of Elite World Group and their apartment, determining that Scaglia had already transferred the value of his stake in the company to himself through various means.

Scaglia's attorneys have previously denied the allegations made against him. As of the latest reports, representatives for Scaglia did not respond to requests for comment.
