Jules Neale has publicly stated that her estranged husband, Brisbane Lions player Lachie Neale, engaged in infidelity with at least two other women prior to their separation. In a recent interview on the 'Pretty Sure' podcast hosted by Adelle Petropoulos, Neale described the moment she learned of her husband's affair with her close friend Tess Crosley as "the worst feeling in the world."
Neale, 37, stated that the discovery of the affair in December of the previous year led her to question her relationships and the people around her. She recounted that the information about the affair was relayed to her by a friend, who had been informed by another partner associated with the AFL club. This friend reportedly offered to tell Jules, believing it would be better coming from a mutual acquaintance than directly from the initial source.
After seven years of marriage, Jules Neale returned to Perth with their children. She revealed that what she initially understood to be a brief encounter had actually developed into a four-month relationship. Neale also alleged that this was not the first instance of infidelity she had confronted during their marriage. She claimed to have previously received a direct message from another woman containing what she described as evidence of cheating by Lachie Neale.
At the time of the earlier allegation, Neale stated she chose to remain in the marriage because they already had a daughter together. She was reportedly reassured that the incident was a one-off mistake. "If it was a one-off mistake, I didn't want to break up our family because of it," she explained, noting she had "too much at stake here for her."
However, further information emerged after the couple's separation, leading Neale to believe the infidelity was not isolated. She stated that upon learning of the most recent affair, her decision was immediate: "We're done." Neale expressed her belief that the infidelity would have continued had she stayed, stating, "If you could do something like this after that, it'll keep happening for the rest of my life."
Neale also addressed rumors that she and Lachie had been involved in an open relationship or swinging arrangement with Crosley and her husband. She definitively denied these claims, stating, "Definitely not in an open relationship and definitely not swinging." She added, "If we were swinging, I wouldn't have packed up my kids and left over a kiss."
She intends to continue using the Neale surname for the time being to share the same last name as her children. Reflecting on life within the AFL spotlight, Neale suggested that professional footballers face particular temptations due to their public profiles, noting that "people [are] throwing themselves at them" and that "they have more opportunity to be unfaithful because the opportunity is just there."
Lachie Neale has not yet publicly responded to the allegations made by his estranged wife. Tess Crosley is scheduled to share her account in an upcoming interview with Daily Mail's 'The Debrief with Savanna Young'.
