The jury deliberating the fate of Lindsay Clancy, accused of murdering her three children, remains deadlocked, with the defense attorney inadvertently revealing the gender of the sole holdout juror. The revelation came during a tense exchange Thursday between Clancy's lawyer, Kevin Reddington, and Judge William Sullivan.
Reddington requested that the judge re-instruct the jury on the concept of "proof beyond a reasonable doubt" with more "force." When Judge Sullivan inquired what he wanted him to do, Reddington stated, "I would ask that you specifically direct their attention to proof beyond a reasonable doubt and re-instruct them forcefully." He then referred to the holdout juror multiple times using the pronoun "he," confirming the juror is male.
"What do you want me to do?" an exasperated Sullivan responded. "I read the instruction … the fact that I perhaps didn’t give it my full inflection, I’m sorry about that, I’m not an actor."
The jury, which comprises nine women and three men, has been deliberating since Thursday, September 4, 2026. Reddington's request for the judge to individually question the holdout juror was denied, with Sullivan stating there was "no showing for a need for an inquiry for this particular juror."
