Amanda Goff, a journalist, has detailed a distressing experience she had over a decade ago on the set of Seven's "Weekend Sunrise," which left her in tears and prompted her to leave the studio. Goff recounted the incident in a column where she described her interactions with co-host Sally Bowrey.
Goff stated that her run-in with Bowrey occurred before she became known as Samantha X. She also mentioned a prior negative experience at "Today Tonight" when she was considered as a potential maternity replacement for Sally Obermeder. According to Goff, Obermeder did not seem to like her, and she is now blocked by Obermeder on Instagram.
In her column, Goff described the "Weekend Sunrise" incident as having "squeaky clean" questions that felt like sneering, aggressive interrogations. She wrote, "I remember the hot studio lights, stumbling over my words as I tried to answer what felt like sneering, aggressive questions that came at me faster than I could gather my thoughts." Goff expressed that the experience left her in tears. She also offered a warning to Sarah Abo, who is potentially joining Seven, suggesting that Goff believes Abo is too nice for the network.
Goff stated that she waited a decade to write about the encounter. She also referenced her history with "the two Sallys," presumably referring to Sally Bowrey and Sally Obermeder.
